Chocolate Overnight Oats
Because I can’t seem to stop making different variations of chocolate oatmeal recipes…here’s yet another one I’m currently obsessed with :
Ingredients
1/2 cup rolled oats
1-2 heaped Tbsp cocoa powder (depending on how chocolate-y you want it)
Pinch of salt
1/2-1 cup milk/liquid of choice (I prefer a thicker consistency so I tend to add just enough liquid to cover the dry mixture)
*Optional: 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup (I usually like to drizzle on top the morning of instead of adding to the base overnight + will omit sometimes if I add fruit on top since that sweetens it up enough for me but feel free to adjust/cater to your sweetness preference!)
*Optional: 1-2 scoops of protein powder (add in a lil extra milk/liquid if doing 2 scoops)
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a container that can be sealed overnight (i.e. mason jar, tupperware, bowl with plastic wrap/foil on top) and mix with a fork or whisk until no more clumps of cocoa powder remain.
In the morning, remove the lid and give it a good stir. Top with your favorite toppings (I’ve been loving skyr, peanut butter & banana slices) and enjoy!
